The Club has purchased a Holter Monitor for the use of Members and Non Members.
A Holter Monitor records an ECG of the dog over a period of 24 hours during all types of normal activity. The data is then uploaded to Alba Medical in the US and a Report is emailed confidentially back to the customer with the results. The Monitor provides a good indication of the dog’s heart condition and whether any abnormalities require further investigation. The onset of DCM can also be detected using this Monitor.
Club members can hire the Monitor for $75.00 and Non Members $150.00. Once the data is uploaded to Alba Medical the cost of the Report is US$40.00.
If you require assistance with the interpretation of the Report one of our Members, Samantha Hendricks, who is a Cardiac Technician has offered to confidentially interpret the Report for people who have hired the Monitor from the Club at no cost. Samantha is a 2nd generation German Shepherd breeder with Haveloc kennels est. 1984 Studied 3yrs of Bachelor of Veterinary Science at University of Queensland, including subjects on Cardiovascular anatomy and physiology and Genetics.
